Dr. Gonzalo Rojas-Ortuste is professor and researcher at the Graduate School for Development of the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (CIDES –UMSA) in La Paz. He is currently the Coordinator of Multidisciplinary Doctorate in Development Studies. His work both in research and education is about democratization (process, institutions and shape of ideals), indigenous peoples, political and intellectual elites and political culture. His latest publications deal with the political process in Bolivia that risk becoming an authoritarian regime.
