Dr. Eduardo C. Tadem, is Convenor of the Program on Alternative Development, University of the Philippines Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP CIDS AltDev). He is currently a Professorial Lecturer at the UP Asian Center. He was President of the Freedom from Debt Coalition (FDC) from 2014 to 2018, Co-convenor of the ASEAN Civil Society Conference/ ASEAN Peoples’ Forum (ACSC/APF) Philippine National Organizing Committee (2017), and a founding Governing Board Member of the Consortium on Southeast Asian Studies in Asia (SEASIA).

He earned his Ph.D. in Southeast Asian Studies from the National University of Singapore, and a Master of Arts in Asian Studies and Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from UP Diliman. He retired as Professor of Asian Studies at UP Diliman in 2015 where he served as Editor-in-chief of Asian Studies: Journal of Critical Perspectives on Asia. He has published over 100 articles in books, academic journals, and periodicals.
